Boycott says will not be putting his money on England for WC at this time

geoffrey boycottLondon, Sep 12 : Former England batsman Geoffrey Boycott has said that he would not be putting his money on England currently for the World Cup.

But, the legendary batsman believes that England plays Sri Lanka, New Zealand and Australia , the three minnows, and if they are able to win against them, they are into the quarterfinals of the World Cup.

Boycott said that although England seems to be at sixes and sevens, one-day cricket is a funny game, The BBC reported.

He said that if one plays very well and gets good decisions going for them and bad ones for the opposition and one gets a bit of luck, they can go through on that day and suddenly they are in the semifinal.

Moreover, Boycott also said that he thinks England does focus on one-day cricket, adding that they are just not very good at it. He said that Test cricket is more important for England and there's nothing wrong with that.

Boycott said that they play quite a lot of one-dayers; they just don't play it very well.

The former England batsman said that instead of making excuses maybe England should put their hands up and say that it isn't working and they have to have a re-think and open up their minds a bit and get into the modern way.
