BP's Lord Browne reveals unknown personality traits

BPBP's former Chief Executive Lord Browne has admitted that his homosexuality could be one of the major reasons for not qualifying him to hold top job in the oil firm.

However, during his tenure in the BP, he was credited for transforming the entire business of the British Oil Producer including controversial re-branding of the company and its green initiatives. The more stories can be read from his book Beyond Business - a reference to his re-branding of BP as "Beyond Petroleum"

Browne, who is claimed to be a gay in his earlier life, also admitted that his arrogance and a culture of complacency contributed in the failure of BP to prevent oil spill in Alaska. He expressed shock over his discovery as gay terming it as a deep error of Judgement.

He remained in news for his relations with his boyfriend Jeff Chevalier that led to his resignation as a Chief Executive of the firm in May 2007 on accounts of making illegal statements and his unsuccessful attempt to prevent the publication of interviews with his former partner in a Sunday newspaper.

Browne added, "In corporate life it wasn't something you talked about, and in the oil industry is was not something you did."
