Britons go for online viewing of FIFA
According to a recent poll conducted by the electronics retailer PC World, one in every three Britons is planning to watch the upcoming FIFA World Cup online rather than normal trend of watching it on a TV set.
It was a survey, which was responded by 3,000 Britons elucidated that high number of Britons is planning to watch the FIFA World Cup on a smartphone device such as a BlackBerry or iPhone.
This finding gave a startling figure shock that indicated a transition towards the online viewing of TV programmes and movies.
This move has upped the demand for video streaming devices such as the Slingbox that streams the online content directly to television that rose by 30 per cent.
It is basically the ability to watch reruns and highlights of matches and record it online which is making the platform so popular. Also 10 per cent of respondents said that they prefer to watch the highlights of matches online rather than waiting for them to come on TV which highlights the trend shift in the current scenario.
