Britvic records 0.8% fall in revenuesThe maker of J2O and Tango drinks, Britvic has said that the total group revenues fell 0.8 per cent to more than £1.2 billion.

The company said that it is confident of meeting the targets for the while year. Britvic had announced recall of its popular Fruit Shoot brand due to faulty caps. It said that the recall had cost about 2 per cent of the total revenues to the company.

Chief executive Paul Moody said, "Following the Fruit Shoot recall in July, we have been focused on returning supply to normalised levels. A further key brand priority has been to ensure that we build and realise the value of our emerging US Fruit Shoot business."

The company was affected by unfavorable weather during the summer and the recall of its products from the markets. Moody added that despite the setbacks the board of the company has expressed confidence that the company will be able to meet its yearly targets.

The company also sells PepsiCo brands such as Pepsi and 7UP in Britain and Ireland. The total revenues of the group fell 4.3 per cent in the UK and 8.5 per cent in Ireland.

Meanwhile, the company is currently holding discussions with Irn-Bru maker AG Barr about a £1.3bn merger.
