Bharti Teletech, one of India's top makers and distributors of telecom & allied products, announced that it has pocketed a major order from Bharat Sanchar Nigam Ltd (BSNL), India's major telecom operator, to make fixed line phones.
Under the deal valued at over Rs 350 million, BSNL will make and supply more than 9 lakh CLIP phones for BSNL within the next 5 months.
The pact further strengthens Bharti Teletech’s association with BSNL.
French company Uniross, the European leader in the field of battery chargers and rechargeable batteries for both the consumer market and experts, has made announcement about the creation of ‘AmperGen™’, the new powerhouse in the battery and portable power market.
This new powerhouse was created, on 10th November 08, with the joining of 3 companies including Multiplier Industries Corp, Alexander Technologies, and North American Battery Company (NABC).
US-based company, General Chemical Industrial Products is in a process to get 300 million non-recourse loans from various banks. The company is a subsidiary of Tata Chemicals and it wants this sum to repay loan taken by the company from Valley Holding to acquire the American firm earlier this year.
It has approached Standard Chartered Bank, ABN Amro, ANZ Banking Group, HSBC, Calyon Bank and SBI and the process is going on for loan approval through various channels.
India's largest private airline, Jet Airways is thinking to reduce salaries and perks of its top management in line with its cost cutting measures. Earlier, few days before Diwali, it had decided to lay-off staff, following international credit crisis and loss booked by the airline due to high fuel costs and lower sales.
However, the company had to roll back its decision, following pressure from the government and politicians, who came for help of sacked employees.
C plus segment sedan Linea was launched by Fiat India Automobiles (FIAL) from the Ranjangaon plant. The car will enter market in the middle of next month.
It is estimated that company would have 2000 units in all its dealers for immediate sale by then. This is a new Fiat model to be launched in India in seven years.
Rajeev Kapoor, managing director and CEO, FIAL, said the car will be distributed by Tata-Fiat dealers but declined to reveal its pricing details.
