Buying Kronic without Producing a Medical Prescription is Illegal in New ZealandPeople of New Zealand were annoyed with the carefree attitude of the Health Minister Peter Dunne on the issue of increasing popularity of synthetic cannabis Kronic with the children of the region.

A media had covered the statements of people who condemned the careless behavior of the minister towards such a serious issue. During the coverage, two issues were raised by the people one being the assurance claimed by Mr. Dunne on imposing limitations on the drug and declaring its consumption only by people above 18 years of age. Secondly, the product consisted of a component called phenazepam which was anti-anxiety and anti-convulsion drug was claimed to be harmful.

The drug was unfit for people who were mentally unstable, children and pregnant women. Moreover, the product threw a strong reaction if taken with alcohol. Therefore, the drug was not to be sold without producing of a medical prescription to anyone be it a child or elder. After a few weeks, the government was planning to place restrictions on the sale and marketing of products such as those containing synthetic cannabinoids in proposed amendments to the Misuse of Drugs Act, the Environmental Science and Research is testing about 40 synthetic cannabinoids products.
