In a circular issued on Wednesday, the Central government advised the public against buying Oseltamivir phosphate, under the name 'Tamiflu' in the Indian retail market.

The government said that the retail sale of 'Tamiflu' was not allowed in India.

Moreover, chemists all over the country have also been directed not to sell it across the counter.

The government issued the advisory following newspaper reports that Tamiflu was being sold at very high rates in the retail market all-through the country.

'Tamiflu' is the only drug, which will cure Swine flu.

As per the advisory, indiscriminate use of 'Tamiflu' is harmful for health. It could result in the virus developing resistance to this only known treatment of the A/H1N1 flu.

Moreover, the Central government is also maintaining sufficient stocks of 'Tamiflu', which will be distributed later among the public without charging any cost through the public health network.

The Ministry of Health and Family Welfare also restated that there were no A/H1N1 influenza cases in India.

The throat swab sample examinations of 20 people were tested negative.

The health check up of all international passengers is going on at 21 international airports all through the country.

Around 39,000 passengers were screened in last twenty-four hours. Among of those tested, 5,987 passengers were from the affected nations.

The Centre has deployed as many as 165 doctors and 86 paramedics at 67 counters of different airports.
