Chelsea boss Villas-Boas warns misfiring striker Torres of possible axing
London, Sep. 9 : Chelsea boss Andre Villas-Boas has warned misfiring striker Fernando Torres that he has two more matches to improve his game or face being dropped.
Villas-Boas has insisted that he will not jeopardise his team’s ambitions for the sake of an individual.
The Daily Mail quoted the Portuguese, as saying: “I have no problem dropping players. You have to persist, but it can never compromise the objectives of your team and the things you want to achieve.”
Torres has managed just one goal in more than 20 appearances for Chelsea so far.
Villas-Boas further added: “At the moment, when it compromises the running of the team, it has to come to an end. I don’t have a first-choice striker. We have to make choices regarding what we see in training.” (ANI)
