India's Chetan Anand has stormed into the semifinals of the men's singles event of the Macau Open Grand Prix in China after defeating Hans-Kristian Vittinghus of Denmark in the pre-quarterfinal match on Thursday.
The seventh seeded Chetan ousted Hans in straight sets 21-15 21-15 in just 30 minutes to enter into last 16 of the tournament. Chetan will now play against the winner of match between Huan Gao and world number one Lee Chong Wei in the quarterfinal match.
Arvind Bhatt also made into the quarterfinals after racing away with the match against eight seeded Jan O Jorgensen, 21-13 22-20 in just 33-minutes in the pre-quarterfinal match. The tenth seeded Arvind will now clash with the fourth seeded Malaysian Choong Hann Wong in the quarterfinal. Wong defeated Chinese Taipei's Hsuan Yi Hsueh in straight sets 21-13 21-9.
