City Union Bank Q4 net slips 7.34%City Union Bank, private lender based in Tamil Nadu, has registered a decline of 7.34 per cent in its net profit at Rs 26.12 crore for the fourth quarter ended March 31, 2009.

The bank had posted a net profit of Rs 28.19 crore in the March quarter of FY'08.    

However, the total income has surged 28.3 per cent to Rs 255.59 crore during the March quarter, against Rs 198.40 crore in the corresponding period last fiscal.    

For the fiscal ended March 31, the lender has posted a net profit of Rs 122.13 crore, a 20.05 per cent increase from Rs 101.73 crore in the year-ago period.    

In addition, the lender also registered  decent growth in its total income for the fiscal ended March 2009, which grew to Rs 928.08 crore, from Rs 686.25 crore in the previous year.    

Apart from announcement of results, the board has declared a dividend of 75 per cent at the rate of Rs 0.75 a share for FY09.    

In a separate announcement, City Union Bank has revealed its plans to raise Rs 250 crore over the next two years to fund its expansion plans. However, the mode of raising the funds has not been decided yet.
