Leading oral care product maker of the country Colgate-Palmolive has declared its fourth quarter financial results for the fiscal year 2009-10. The company has posted a standalone net profit of Rs 114.39 crore for the quarter that ended in 31st March, 2010.

The consolidated net profit was reported to be Rs 77.07 crore for the same quarter in the financial year 2008-09. This net profit figure has grown up by 48% in this quarter as compared to the same quarter in the last fiscal. Strong volume growth has propelled the company to register such a striking net profit in this quarter.

The company sells toothpaste, toothpowder, toothbrushes and mouthwash under the popular brand Colgate.

The standalone net sales of the firm have gone up by 13% to Rs 516.6 crore during the January-March period of fiscal year 2009-10 from Rs 455.4 crore in the same quarter last year.

The annual consolidated net profit of the company was reported to be Rs 434.10 crore for the year under review from Rs 285.78 crore last year with a surge of 52%.
