The famed US retailer, Best Buy has scored a lengthy sales record at its first opening in UK. The all new Thurrock based store has witnessed a sale which has taken the US retail giant in surprise, as it clocked the highest sales figures for the company.

This store freshly joins the league of 1,150 Best Buy stores around the world that includes the outlets present in Mexico, Turkey and China.

The sources reveal that it is a 50,000 square-foot Thurrock store that opened for sale on 30 April. It has partnered with UK retailer Carphone Warehouse, to increase the list to significant levels.

The officials at the Best Buy state that they are ready to launch eight more outlets in the coming March all over the country.

It has become official now. The retailing joint, Best Buy. com will offer iPad. Meanwhile, AT&T will become its partner in providing the 3G service.

As per the sources, who also claim that Apple's iPad will be coming in the market by April 3, the debut of iPad will be made on Best Buy.

Best Buy, which is expectedly the biggest electronic retailer of the US, on the other hand has accepted that it wishes to stock the entire mart with the tablet PCs.

Consumer electronics retailer Best Buy Co. posted 37 per cent rise in its earnings for the fourth quarter. The better than expected results surfaced as sales of notebook PCs and TVs zoomed up on back of falling prices, the company reported.

The best part of the announcements made by the company in Thursday is that this quarter represented the retailer's 17th consecutive market share gain. Interestingly, its biggest rival Circuit City Stores Inc. closed many of its stores last year.

According to the recent news, Panasonic group has expressed its will to team up with Best Buy Co., America's leading electronics retailer, to play the new 3-D televisions in U. S. stores. The company is all set to provide the sets at discounted price close to 50%, as the Panasonic in play wants to push the technology drive in the market.

Electronics retailer Best Buy Co. on Friday claimed that its sales witnessed a sharp rise in December as costumers purchased notebook computers, TVs and mobile phones ahead of the holidays. However, the earnings remain stagnated and its shares fell 1.5 percent in premarket trading, to $40.90.

Its revenue increased 13% to $8.5 billion for the fiscal month of December ended January 2, 2010. The revenue for the five-week period compared to $7.5 billion for the five-week period ended Jan.
3, 2009.

Additionally, the company witnessed that domestic online revenue in fiscal December increased 34% versus the prior year, driven primarily by growth in Web site traffic accounting to strong consumer electronics and appliance sales.

A recently-announced retail partnership between Google and Best Buy Mobile will facilitate the distribution of the Google Mobile App on smartphones sold in-store at Best Buy’s mobile specialty retail division.
