Flight attendants at Continental Airlines have settled an agreement with the company. The agreement covers deal between flight attendants and Continental Airways. However, parent company United Continental Holdings Inc. still needs to reach an agreement with flight attendants of United Airlines.

Company is planning a joint agreement for the purpose. For this, company is seeking talks to union covering flight attendants of United Airlines. They are in the Association of Flight Attendants-CWA. Two airlines merged in one in October 1, 2010. It was a all-stock merger of $3.47 billion. But as of now, both airlines are operating separately, as separate entities. They now have same parent company, but for single operation, they are waiting for approval from US regulators.

For current agreement, company dealt with International Association of Machinists and Aerospace Workers. This association, which covers around 9300 flight attendants, says that agreement was passed using voting. Positive votes were 68% for the agreement. "This interim agreement provides immediate raises and important merger protections as United and Continental integrate their operations" Robert Roach Jr., Machinists general vice president, said in a statement. International Association of Machinists and Aerospace Workers also include employees from other airlines and companies.

Continental flight attendants accepted the highest pay among any major airline based in United States as part of agreement. The agreement also includes profit sharing plan which is said to be very generous for attendants. Agreement also has provision of sick-leave enhancements.
