Defence Ministry says body believed of rebel leader's son recovered
Colombo - A body believed to be of the son of Tamil rebel chief Velupillai Prabhakaran has been recovered by the army during clearing operations in north-eastern Sri Lanka, the Defence Ministry said Monday.
The son known as Charles Anthony was known to be fighting alongside his father in the conflict.
Clearing operations in the areas were continuing after the Liberation Tigers of Tamil Eelam said Sunday that they were laying down their weapons after more than 25 years fighting for an independent homeland for the minority Tamils. (dpa)
