DiabetesDiabetes can be trim down in men by taking nutritional diet. Researchers discovered that men have high levels of selenium which help them to fight diabetes.

Dysglycemia is a condition in which the body make great efforts to regulate blood sugar. Men who had high levels of selenium, have less chances to develop Dysglycemia stage which in future take the shape of diabetes.

Few of the analyst and researchers worked for nine years observing 1162 healthy elderly French men and women and finding the ratio of selenium in them. They found that elderly French men having plasma selenium concentrations have less chances of dysglycemia.

Researchers told that Sellenium, an antioxidant found naturally in nuts and liver and it is naturally present in the men, but even if selenium is sold in the forms of capsules it does not attain the original property of fighting against diabetes. Further they added that this is the reason why men are at lower risk of diabetes then women.

This research was published in journal Nutrition and Metabolism.

It was published in that journal that many new cases of dysglycemia appears before the researchers and they found that men are suffering more then women, total 127 cases of dysglycemia occurred, of which 70 were in men and
57 in women. This theory proves that protective effect of selenium in men but not in women is not completely clear.
