Diarrhoea outbreaks in Shimla with 53 new casesThe capital region of Himachal Pradesh is suffering from the threat of diarrhoea these days. As the total number of cases in the state has gone up to 170 in last three days with 53 new cases of the disease added on Friday.

Among the worst affected areas hit by the disease, the crowded locality of Sanjauli is the one with the maximum number of cases. As out of the 53 cases, 37 were registered at Sanjauli dispensary only while the rest seven were at IGMC hospital and nine at Rippon hospital.

The reason for the spread of diarrhoea in the area is the contaminated water supply to these areas as reported by the health worker. Although the results of water samples are still awaited but the surveillance officer has blamed out food contamination for the outbreak of disease.

The sudden contingency has engulfed the life of a 12-year-old boy two days ago who was transferred dead to the hospital.
