Dutch concerned over North Korean nuclear tests

Dutch concerned over North Korean nuclear testsAmsterdam - Dutch Foreign Affairs Minister Maxime Verhagen expressed concern Monday over North Korea's latest nuclear test and urged the United Nations Security Council to voice "a clear opinion" on the matter.

Verhagen, who was attending an international conference in the Vietnamese capital Hanoi, said the North Korean regime continued "to develop its nuclear program recklessly."

"The timing of its testing implies the regime intends to intimidate the international community," he added.

Verhagen said he would ask the European Union to condemn North Korea's nuclear activities. He also called on Pyongyang to return to the six-party talks aimed at reducing tension in the region.(dpa)
