Eminent neurosurgeon, medical board examines Jyoti Basu

Jyoti BasuKolkata, Sept 10 : Doctors attending on former West Bengal Chief Minister Jyoti Basu, who was admitted to a nursing home on Sunday, said on Wednesday he was examined by the medical board and also an eminent neurosurgeon.

Basu had suffered a head injury after falingl at his Indira Bhavan residence on Friday. He was hospitalised with a blood clot in his brain.

His condition is stable and keeping well. He had a normal diet," a medical bulletin issued by the hospital said.

Neurosurgeon R P Sengupta, who was specially called in from U. K. to check the line of treatment, too expressed satisfaction.

The medical board decided to continue with the present course of monitoring and review it again on Thursday morning, the bulletin added.

Basu is being treated by a ten-member member medical board that includes neurosurgeons and cardiologists. (ANI)
