It turned out to be an Ethiopian day in 2nd Sunfeast World 10k Bangalore on Sunday as Deriba Merga and Aselefech Mergia finished at first spot in men's single and women's single respectively.

Deriba Merga finished race in just 28 minutes and 19 seconds and won the men's title in the 2nd Sunfeast World 10k Bangalore whereas Aselefech Mergia registered a timing of 32 minutes and 8 seconds to finish at the top of women's single.

Merga has won prize money of $20,000 for winning the men's title in 2nd Sunfeast World 10k Bangalore.

It is worthwhile to note here that Merga was in the hunt of breaking Haile Gebrselassie's world record last week in Ottawa, but just missed it.

Among the Indian runners, Sandeep Kumar finished on top with a timing of 30 minutes and 2 seconds and Kavita Raut of Maharashtra won women's title among the Indian women runners.
