Eurozone GDP might have risen 0.2% this quarter
According to a recent poll, the Gross Domestic Product of the Eurozone is expected to grow at 0.2 percent during the fourth quarter.
The Eurozone members are expected to release their figures this week and many believe that bloc is expected to have grown moderately during the previous quarter. A poll conducted by Reuters showed that the GDP might have grown at 0.2 percent during the quarter compared to the earlier quarter and at 0.4 percent compared to the same quarter of the previous year.
The European Central Bank is will determine its actions based on the direction of growth in the region's economy. Experts are concerned over growing disparity between currency union's largest economies, Germany and France. The German economy is expected to grow 0.3 per cent this quarter and the growth will be 1.3 per cent for this year.
Mario Draghi, president of the European Central Bank also accepted that the world economy is on the path of recovery but there are potential risks and challenges. The ECB has indicated that it is considering scrapping taking up money spent buying sovereign bonds during the euro zone's debt crisis that will allow about 175 billion euros to be injected into the economy to boost growth.
