Exercise induce positive feeling about body image
Recent study indicated that physical workout boost your confidence about your body irrespective of actual decrease in body weight. People who exercise daily feel better about their bodies even if there is no change in actual body weight.
Heather Hausenblas a psychologist, from the University of Florida and graduate student Anna Campbell reached at the findings after analyzing 57 linked with effect of exercise on body. They concluded that exercise is often linked to loss of weight and other health benefits but it is also a fact that exercise boost self-confidence by synthesizing positive feelings about one's body image.
During study researchers found that there was no actual difference in body image between those who exercised for 30 minutes a day, five days a week and those who didn't follow fitness regime. It was found women felt slightly better about their bodies as compared to men through exercise.
Hausenblas said: "We believed the gap would be much bigger, but what could be coming into play is the rise of body image issues among men. We're seeing more media portrayals of the ideal physique for men rather than the overriding emphasis on women we did in the past."
Researchers added that regular exercises are also essential to boost spirit of people who harness dissatisfaction with their body image. It is believed that 60 percent of the people are not happy with their physical appearance.
