Facebook redesigns Messages with new look and “improved” features

Facebook redesigns Messages with new look and “improved” featuresAfter bringing on a horde of new features to the popular social networking site of late, Facebook has now given a much-required redesign to its inside-the-site messaging program: Messages.

Revealing that the somewhat old-style and commonplace Messages program - which works from within Facebook - has been redesigned and given a new look, Facebook said on Wednesday that the messaging functionality now boasts "improved" features which would make it notably attractive for the users.

About the redesigned Messages, Facebook said in its recent announcement that the program now has a new side-by-side layout which enables the users to click their most recent message on the left side, to view the entire conversation on the right side.

In addition, the overhauled Messages functionality also allows the users to enliven their chats with a wide array of pictures and emoticons; and also to search Messages using either the name of the sender or a keyword from the main messages view.

Facebook further revealed that the redesigned messaging program - which is being gradually rolled out to the Facebook users - also facilitates navigation as the company has added keyboard commands.

Moreover, as per a post from Facebook engineering, Adam Wolff said that improved Messages also brings along an increased "reliability" of messages across Facebook, as the social network has been working to "address issues with disconnection, incorrect message counts, and missed and duplicated messages."
