Fairfax County Government Center Manages H1N1 Vaccine Rush Effectively

Swine Flu vaccine clinics have been crowded by anxious population all across the Washington area, leading to long lines and every increasing wait time. One clinic however, has managed to score over the others, and it is the Fairfax County Government Center, where operations were smooth and much organized on Saturday.

Most of the people who had headed to the center were able to park, fill out all the required paperwork, get the H1N1 vaccine shot, complete all other formalities and get out of the clinic within 30 minutes. At the county's third mass Swine Flu clinic, in excess of 8,000 people were vaccinated.

Not taking all the credit, the clinic and Health Director Dr. Gloria Addo-Ayensu have been quick to say that the operations went smoothly because of the public's increasing understanding of how H1N1 vaccine clinics work.

Much fewer people seeking vaccines were turned away from the clinic on Saturday. Over the coming two weeks, the county has four more clinics to administer H1N1 vaccines scheduled, but they are of a smaller scale. Details are available at fairview.org/flu.
