Famous opera singer Cesare Siepi died at the age of 87The Italian opera singer, Cesare Siepi has died at the age of 87. He is considered to be one of the finest bass singers ever. His family members were present there in the hospital.

The Milan born singer was staying in US and died in Atlanta hospital after suffering from a heart stroke a week before.

The singer had performed 379 times at the Metropolitan Opera in New York.

He had played 18 roles which includes the roles of Don Giovanni and Figaro as well. He was also a most desirable guest at opera companies across the world including The Royal Opera House of London. His daughter Luisa Siepi has said that family was very important for the singer and they were probably the most important thing for him.

The singer was born in 1923 and at his young age he was a part of a madrigal choir and then went at the Milan Conservatory for study.

He left Italy at the time of the Second World War and went to Switzerland. Siepi returned to Italy at the end of the World War II and then travelled to the US after some time. He made his opera debut in the year 1950.
