Ford Motor Company tops Ethisphere Institute's list of World’s Most Ethical Companies

Ford Motor Company was on top in the Ethisphere Institute's list of World’s Most Ethical Companies of 2015 for the sixth consecutive year. Each year, the Ethisphere Institute recognizes companies, which take care of their products and services they provide to their consumers in addition to prioritizing their businesses.

Companies are selected by the Institute on the basis of five characteristics i.e. corporate citizenship and responsibility; ethics and compliance; culture of ethics, governance and leadership; innovation; and reputation.

According to Bill Ford, the company’s executive chairman, the company feels proud to have grabbed the position and it takes care while selecting approach to do operations. According to Mr. Ford, “Ethics and corporate citizenship are important factors that affect a company’s reputation and success, and we are proud Ford is the only automaker to have received this honor for six consecutive years”.

As per Timothy Erblich, chief executive officer at Ethisphere Institute, companies, which work according to ethical guidelines are the ones, which get success and Ford is that kind of company. He added that the company is performing well throughout the world.
He also said that the company has achieved this level because of the combined action of a global work force from the top down and everyone at Ford deserves such a wonderful accomplishment.

Moreover, according to research, companies having proper ethical guidelines generally have greater sales, as this leads to increased confidence of the consumers in the company and its products.

As per the 2015 Harris Poll Reputation Quotient, approximately 53% of the consumers in the US want to know properly about the company prior to doing business with it. About 33% others avoided doing business with a company with bad image.
