Fortis logs in seven-fold increase in net profit in Q1, FY10

Fortis Healthcare Ltd (FHL) has informed that its net profit has witnessed seven-fold jump to Rs 7 crore during the first quarter 2009-10 on the back of improved cost management.
In the similar quarter of previous fiscal, company's net profit figure stood at Rs 94 lakh.
FHL, which manages a network of 28 hospital in India and overseas, has clocked 27% growth in its consolidated sales at Rs 188.54 crore during Q1 of current fiscal as against Rs 148.35 crore in same period in 2008-09.
The other hospitals of FHL including Escorts Heart Institute and Research Centre (EHIRC), Delhi, and Fortis Escorts, Jaipur have performed exceedingly well and recorded a 50 per cent jump in revenue.
