London - England left-back Ashley Cole signed a four-year extension to his contract with Chelsea on Wednesday.

He is understood to be making 120,000 pounds (195,000 dollars) a week.

The news comes days after captain John Terry committed himself to the club for five more years.

"This is my fourth season here now and it feels as if we are getting more close and more of a family, and the spirit is better than I have ever seen it," Cole told the club website.

"We are hungry to win, we didn't like losing last season and hopefully this season can be our year." (dpa)
