Gambhir off IPL due to injury

Gautam-GambhirThe Mumbai Indians gave the Delhi Daredevils a nasty blow in the match played in Delhi on Wednesday night. The effect of the blow seems to have doubled by the injury of their regular captain Gautam Gambhir.

According to reports, Gautam Gambhir has pulled his hamstring because of which he remained off the field for the maximum time in the match. Gambhir didn't even come for batting in the last match, which suggests that his injury is quite serious.

Gambhir is more likely to give a miss to the match against the Chennai Superkings, who will also be playing with their new captain Suresh Raina.

Raina is captaining the Chennai Superkings in place of Mahendra Singh Dhoni who will not be playing the next game due to his injury. Dhoni got injured in the match against Kolkata Knight Riders.

Dhoni will remain off the field for at least 10 days, but there is no such confirmation about Gautam Gambhir's miss during the IPL, this season.

Eric Simons, the Assistant coach of Delhi Daredevils commented that Gambhir may remain out of the game for a longer period. Simons' comments on Gambhir's injury were "reasonably sore, reasonably serious and very tender".
