Ganguly awarded fellowship by LancashireThe former Indian captain Sourav Ganguly has been awarded an honorary fellowship by the University of Central Lancashire as confirmed by Ganguly himself on Thursday.

Ganguly said that it has been a huge honor for him, and he has a long term ties with the Lancashire as he played his first ODI match at the Old Trafford 13 years ago.

He added that the most remembering day with Lancashire was in April 2000, when he was unable to take his hands out of his pockets while standing in the slips due to chilly conditions.

Dharma Kovvuri, dean of university, said that it has been a great moment for the university as they have been able to nominate Ganguly and moreover he accepted this honor.

He further said that Ganguly has been the star of the Indian cricket and one of the most successful captains in the Indian cricketing history.
