Captivating the hearts of millions of her fans worldwide, the personification of Goddess Saraswati, the Nightingale of India, the melody queen, Lata Mangeshkar entered her 79th year on September 28.
Keeping upto her annual routine, she followed her daily schedule with the prayers at Mahalaxmi Temple which is right across her home in Prabhu Kunj, Mumbai. It was a usual day for her as she’s never celebrated her Birthday with fanfare. Though this time around, she might be going to Dinanath Mangeshkar Hospital, in Pune which was built in memory of her father.
It was a Celebration time on Friday for veteran actor Dev Anand who turned 85. While he was preparing for his way to London for the promotion of his Autobiography, the Global Edition of it, he was generous enough to still take time out to share his Birthday in the company of his admirers.
Though 85, his age doesn’t seem to bar him from any of his activities when he was found busy shooting for his home productions “Chargesheet” and was thronged in his Bandra located studio office by his admirers.
A good news is in store for all the budding short film producers and directors as the International Film Festival of India (IFFI) announces due share of the former in its ten day long festival. The credit goes to Entertainment Society of Goa (ESG) which is the nodal agency of organizing the event this time around. The ESG has tied up with Indian Documentary Film Producers’ Association (IDPA), who will help in guiding the event.
It was a big loss to the Film industry when a sad demise of legendary singer was reported on Saturday evening. Mahendra Kapoor was undeniably one the most sought after and finest singers of yesteryears. The singer breathed his last at his Mumbai residence in Bandra, after being suffering from Heart problems, a stroke and Kidney dysfunction. He was 74.
The upcoming movie of Mumbai based Mirchi Productions (MP), Hari Puttar, is similar to Warner Bros Harry Potter and therefore the latter had earlier filed a case against the former on the account of copyright violation. But on Monday, the case was dismissed by Delhi High Court.
The court clarified that even if there are structural or phonetic similarities in the words “Harry Potter” and “Harry Puttar,” there still is a lot of difference between the two.
