Gmail Become Number One E-Mail Service In IndiaAccording to a survey conducted by ViziSense, an internet user measurement agency that tracks India's top websites on a monthly basis, Gmail has become the most popular mailing service site among Indians.

As per data shown by ViziSense in September, Gmail has become the most popular e-mail service among Indians with an increase of almost three per cent in traffic as compared to that of August.

Around 18.2 million Indians have accessed Gmail in September.

Mr. Prashant Mehta, chief operating officer of Komli Media Pvt Ltd, the internet ad agency that owns ViziSense said that the immense popularity of Google in past few years has benefited Gmail to attract new users.

Among other e-mail service providers, Yahoo Mail has witnessed an 8 per cent decrease in traffic and has slipped down to the second place. The newly launched home page was unable to attract users as the number of users has declined to 16.8 million from 18.2 million a month ago.

Rediff Mail and MSN Mail have 6.25 and 4.11 million Indian users respectively. MSN Mail has seen a rise of about six per cent in the number of users.
