Google-logoA recent finding, conducted by Google, has shown a new kind of cyber-attack. This is akin to the prior attacks that happened on Google.

It is believed that the objective of these attacks is lucid and is targeted towards hacking into the computers of critics of a Vietnam-based mining project.

The official post of Google Online Security from Neel Mehta, member of the security team, claims it to be a carefully planned attack.

It involved the drastic step of infecting all the computers of Vietnamese speaking people around the globe which led towards the main objective i. e. hacking the computers of the activists protesting against the mines.

It was further stated that the infected machines kept an eye over all those activists who criticized the Vietnamese mining project. It was backed by the People's Republic of China.

Internet security company, McAfee who supports Google, believes that people responsible for the attacks may have been working for the government of Socialist Republic of Vietnam. Although, the malware is claimed to be 'harmless software,' it has given indications of increasing cyber-attacks.
