Marking its ever-increasing acquisitions, Google has added another firm with acquisition of Labpixies, a firm known for making widgets and apps for platforms such as iGoogle, Facebook and the iphone.

With no reports on the details of the deal, it is believed that the Tel Aviv, Israel based firm - Labpixies is the eighth company acquired since the beginning of the year by Google. This and other 70 strategic acquisitions of Google made the total close to $10 billion which seems to be expanding.

Labpixies that goes with the tagline of - Coolest Gadgets on the web, will probably continue to develop gadgets for non Google platforms, and shall be glued to OpenSocial foundation for applications, a feature thoroughly used by the social networking site such as Facebook, claim the sources.

Following the acquisition, LabPixies came up with a statement that hinted on the upcoming opportunities that will provide an atmosphere of learning that will help developers improve the entire developer ecosystem.
