Haryana Power Generation bags coal supply for its power station

Haryana Power Generation Corporation Limited The Haryana Power Generation Corporation Limited (HPGCL) has notified that company has secured coal supply for its power stations by signing a Fuel Supply Agreement (FSA) with three major subsidiaries of Coal India Limited (CIL).

The names of the units are Central Coalfields Limited (CCL), Bharat Coking Coal Limited (BCCL) and Northern Coalfield Limited (NCL).

Under the FSA, the above said coal companies have agreed to supply the coal, while HPGCL has agreed to purchase every year the Annual Contracted Quantity (ACQ) of coal.

According to company official, CCL would supply 50.90 Lakh MT coal, BCCL 18.5 Lakh MT and NCL 16 Lakh MT for HPGCL Power Stations.

The signing of latest agreement is considered as a major step by HPGCL towards ensuring an assured and reliable supply of good quality and sufficient quantity of sized coal for the Generating Stations of HPGCL.

The move will ensure that facilities should keep on running uninterruptedly and provide enough power for overall development of the State.

The tenure of the FSA has been fixed at 20 Years or the lifespan of the Power Station which ever is lesser.
