Following the death of four children in Madhya Pradesh, India Union Health Ministry gave a signal immediately to probe into the matter. This directive was sent to a team of vaccination experts.

These infants died on Tuesday, as the medicines given to them had supposedly expired. Further, in addition to these deaths, is the case of medicinal supply for twenty more infants, aged below two, who were subjected to tetanus and anti-measles vaccine in two Anganwadi centres on Friday.

The team has reached Damoh and has already started its inquiry. It is believed that they will soon be bringing to light the root cause of the matter.

In the meantime, Health Minister of Madhya Pradesh, Anup Mishra took rapid action by sacking four health officials including the doctor who was responsible for the vaccination program in the Damoh district.

It was observed that health risks were on increase in Madhya Pradesh and the government has turned a blind eye toward it. This matter, however, has opened the eyes of the government, who seems to have finally come to understand the severity and has got into action.
