Hezbollah accepts election results, says Nasrallah

Sheikh Hassan NasrallahBeirut - The secretary general of the Lebanese Shiite movement Sheikh Hassan Nasrallah said Monday his group has accepted the outcome of Lebanese parliamentary elections.

"We accept the results which were issued by the Lebanese Interior Ministry," Nasrallah said in a televised address. "I congratulate all election winners," he added.

According to the ministry's official results, the Pro-West majority won 71 seats in the 128-member parliament, while the Hezbollah-led opposition secured 57 seats. (dpa)
