H&R trying to keep itself as an independent company

H-R-BlockH&R Blocks Inc is expecting that it would be able to keep itself as an independent company and for that the company is trying every bit to win over newer customers for digital filings. The largest tax preparer in the US has been facing tough competition for quite some time now.

Talking to the media, Chief Executive Officer Alan Bennett said that he has been trying very hard to make the firm stand tall. He added that after Russ Smyth resigned from the company, he is now going to focus more on branding and marketing as retail customers become important for it.

H&R, said Alan, is also looking for acquisitions if and when they come up.

H&R Block like many other in its industry has been facing tough competition and falling sales. Its biggest rival is TurboTax-owner Intuit Inc. as it deals in the web-based software that also deals in filings.

Internet-based area is also something which is in the priority list of Alan and he believes that the firm will be able to use the opportunity and prosper in this vertical as well.
