Hurriyat wants tripartite talks over Kashmir issue, says Mirwaiz
Srinagar, Oct. 3 : All Parties Hurriyat Conference (APHC) on Saturday said it wanted tripartite talks including India and Pakistan to resolve the dispute over Kashmir.
"A global consensus is being built that we can''t move forward until India, Pakistan and people of Kashmir push the peace process forward," Mirwaiz Umar Farooq, Chairman of All Parties Hurriyat Conference said on the sidelines of a function here.
Farooq said the alliance wanted New Delhi to revoke the special powers enjoyed by the security forces.
"We are basically focusing on three-four issues like demilitarisation, revocation of stringent laws like Public Safety Act, Disturbed Areas Act, Armed Forces Special Powers Act, release of political prisoners, promotion of business across the border," added Farooq. (ANI)
