I Really Miss Pancham, Says Lata MangeshkarThe nightingale of Hindi film industry Lata Mangeshkar remembers music maestro R.D. Burman, more commonly known as Pancham, on his 71st birth anniversary on Sunday and said that he was a perfect composer.

On her Twitter page, Lata wrote, "It's pancham's birth anniversary today... i really miss you (Pancham) and your music pancham... you are matchless... yours didi."

The Lata-Burman combo have given some memorable hits including "Bahon mein chale aao", "Tere bina jiya jaye na", "Tune O rangeele" and "Tujhse naraaz nahin zindagi".

The 80 year-old legend remembers her first meeting with Panchamda.

"He thrust his autograph book at me  when  I was recording for his father. Do you know what I wrote in the autograph book?  'Pancham badmashi chhod do' (Stop being naughty)  He  laughed and ran away. After that, I didn't see him for a long time. He didn't stay much with Burman Dada. He loved his naani and stayed with her more," Lata ji said.

Born on June 27, 1939, Rahul Dev Burman, was nicknamed Pancham, supposedly by Manna Dey owing to his characteristic youthful wailing apparently matched the fifth note. (With Inputs from Agencies)
