Sarajevo - Former Bosnian Serb politician Momcilo Krajisnik, convicted for war crimes, arrived Monday in Pale for a short visit with his family.
Krajisnik, a former parliamentary speaker of Bosnian Serb entity - Serb Republic (RS), was sentenced by the International Criminal Tribunal for the former Yugoslavia in
2006 to 20 years in prison for crimes against humanity committed in Bosnia during the 1992-95 war.
Last week the Hague Tribunal granted him three days to visit his ill mother in Pale, which was the Bosnian Serbs' capital during the war.
The visit was granted after Krajisnik, 64, said that his temporary release would not pose a threat to the victims and that he would not have any contact with the media.
During the stay, Krajisnik will have to spend the nights in police station in Pale, under police supervision.
After the war, Bosnia was divided into two largely autonomous entities - Serb Republic and Muslim-Croat Federation of Bosnia-Herzegovina.(dpa)
