The Indira Gandhi National Open University (IGNOU) has revealed that it has inked an agreement with Papua New Guinea University of Technology for a slew of educational as well as training programmes.

The sources informed that the Memorandum of Understanding (MoU), inked on Friday, plans development of cultural, educational and scientific collaborations among the two Universities.

Besides higher education and training, the universities will tie up to provide degree, diploma as well as certificate programmes at undergraduate and post-graduate levels.

Sources added that IGNOU programmes at the UNITECH are expected to commence from July 2010 session.

With this, IGNOU has strengthened its foothold to 34 countries with 53 partner institutions overseas.
