Kolkata Knight Riders defeated Kings XI Punjab at the Eden Gardens in Kolkata. Sourav Ganguly performed very well and scored 86 runs off 53 balls. KKR registered a win in a very interesting match in which Kings XI Punjab were in a very strong position. 175 was a big score to chase, especially when the wickets fell in early overs.

The 49-run partnership between Umar Gul and Ganguly helped Kolkata Knight Riders to win. Sourav Ganguly has once again proved his worth. The fans in Kolkata were happy to see him back in action.

After 15 overs KKR had reached 104 and needed 71 more runs to win. The wickets in hand were 5 and Ganguly managed well till the end.

Umar Gul’s two sixes in first and third delivery changed the whole scenario. Gul scored quick 24 off 11 balls. Kolkata Knight Riders were back in the race. KKR defeated Kings XI Punjab by three wickets before leaving IPL at 13 points from 14 matches.
