India added new 16.9 million telecom users in April: TRAI
Indian subcontinent has added 16.9 million mobile phone users in the month of April making the total number of telephone subscribers in the country reach to 638.05 million, lists a data from the Telecom Regulatory Authority of India (TRAI).
The round-about tele-density in India reached 54.10 percent, where the aggregate number of telephone subscribers stood at 621.28 million in March. In the area of wireless segment, the subscriber base reached to
601.22 million in April surpassing the earlier 584.32 million, with a growth of 2.89 percent.
The overall wireless tele-density stood at 50.98 percent. According to the census related to the wireline states that the number of users came down from 36.96 million in March to 36.83 million in April. However amidst all these the total broadband subscriber base in India grew by 2.8 percent from 8.75 million in March to 9 million in April, which comes as a positive news for the people as it is proportionally marks a developing graph of India.
