India enters into semifinals

Indian women hockey teamIndian women hockey team has advanced to the semifinals of the Women's Champions Challenge hockey tournament as they crushed Canada in the quarterfinal at Kazan, Russia on Monday.

India has defeated Canada by 8-1 as Ritu Rani's scored hat-trick of goals against Canada in the quarterfinal of the Women's Champions Challenge hockey tournament.

Ritu scored three consecutive goals in 54th, 63rd and 70th minutes of the match including two goals from penalty corners.

Rani Rampal scored two goals for India in 57th and 61st minutes of the match while Deepika Thakur (6th), Surinder Kaur (29th) and Mamta Kharb (67th) scored one goal each in this emphatic win of India.

Jessalyn Walkey was only scorer for Canada who scored a goal in 10th minute of the match against India.

India will now play against Belarus in their last league match on Wednesday while semifinal of the Women's Champions Challenge hockey tournament will be played on
26th June.
