India sends back two Pakistani boys home

Barmer, (Rajasthan) Apr 18: Two Pakistani boys were handed over to the Pakistani authorities last evening, day after they were arrested for straying across the Barmer border in Rajasthan.

Azhar Ansari (18) and his cousin Zoaib Ali (10) apparently dug the earth below a barbed wire fence on the Indo-Pak border to sneak into Barmer last Saturday. They were apprehended by Border Security Force personnel and handed over to the police.

“A team of officers from the BSF, the RAW, the Criminal Investigation Department (CID) and the Rajasthan Police questioned them,” said Additional Senior Superintendent of Police (SSP) Shivraj Meena.

The two had said that they were depressed after an argument with their parents and had left their home after stealing some money.

"Some India currency notes and a mobile charger were recovered from their possession. The boys were sent back to their country since nothing incriminating was found against them during interrogation,” Meena added.

Earlier, the families of the boys had made an appeal to the two governments of both the countries to take steps for their early release.

"We want the Indian and Pakistani Governments to help us to get them back. Our children have made a mistake," they said. (ANI)
