Indian archers have finished at the top place in the 4th Asian Grand Prix archery meet with bagging seven gold, one silver and three bronze medals on the final day at the SAI, Eastern Centre, on Saturday.
Indian archers dominated on the last day as they made clean sweep in the team championship event with winning all four gold medals. India archers also bagged gold medals in the men’s and women’s compound events. Later in the day, Indian women won gold medal in the women’s recurve event.
But, Indian archers failed to win any medal in the men’s recurve event as Vishwash went down to Mark Forrester of Scotland with a score of 99-104 in the bronze medal playoff round.
Bangladesh finished at the second spot with one gold and one silver medal while Scotland occupied third place with three silver and two bronze medals. Iran won two silver and three bronze medals to be at the fourth place.
The tournament ended with a function comprising prize distribution ceremony. Sultan Ahmed, honorable Union minister of state for tourism, was invited as chief guest and he gave awards to the winning teams and individuals.
