Indian Govt To Unveil Investor Awareness Campaign
The corporate affairs ministry announced that it will organize awareness camps across India with the intention to attract investments into the business segment.
In a declaration, the ministry said, "There is significant household savings available with Indian households which can be channelized into the corporate economy which will result in not only higher returns for the investors but also more growth of the corporate sector."
The ministry stated that less than 1% of the population makes investment in the business segment as compared to the 15% in some of the developed nations.
The ministry has signed up partnership deals with professional institutes, trade and industry chambers, bourses, SEBI, the Reserve Bank of India and the department of public enterprises to stretch out to a large number of investors all through the year.
The campaign will begin on July 13 with the India Investor week in five metro cities including Kolkata, Mumbai, Hyderabad, Bangalore and Chennai.
Industry chambers like the Federation of Indian Chambers of Commerce and Industry, the Confederation of Indian Industry and the Associated Chambers of Commerce and Industry and the Southern India Chamber of Commerce and Industry will be the main organizers.
The ministry also said that it would also introduce a investor awareness internet site in 12 regional languages during this week together with investor and beginners guides in English and regional languages. (With Inputs from Agencies)
