Indian Team wins against Pakistan in opening hockey WC gameTeam India showing a sparkling performance and keeping control on the emotions, won their first game on the opening day of Hockey World Cup in New Delhi against the arch rivals Pakistan.

The game played on Sunday ended with a score of 4-1 in favor of India.

The Spanish born coach of the Indian hockey team said, "It was great we won 4-1. The boys played really well and they deserved to win." The coach had been advising his players to keep control on the emotion and concentrate on the play.

He was addressing the press conference after the game in which he expressed that the team should not be overconfident and that it was just one game which bought 3 point and nothing else.

The coach named Sandeep Singh as a good performer in the game but added that he can play better in the coming matches. The coach clarified that other goal keeper Sreejesh Raveendran was chosen to man the post in the game because it was decided on his performance and said that Adrian D'Souza does not have any injuries.

The captain of the Indian team said that the strategy followed by the team was to play an attacking game which gave them many opportunities to score through penalty corners. When asked if his team outplayed the rivals he simply said that his team played better than them and they hope to play even better in the coming matches.

The coach of the Pakistani side agreed that the Indian team played better but said that his team would bounce back in the tournament. He said that the Indian midfield domination made all the difference.

The Pakistani captain Zeshan Ashraf said that his team was unable to level the lead taken by the Indian team in the first half.
