Jakarta - Indonesia's stock market surged 6.44 per cent Tuesday, in line with international market rises after the governments of the world's leading industrial nations announced plans aimed at solving the global financial crisis.

The Indonesian Composite Index closed at 1,555.97, rising 94.09 points, or 6.44 per cent.

Dealers said the increase was sparked by soaring markets across Asia after Wall Street rallied from its worst week ever on optimism that government rescue efforts will heal the crippled global financial system. (dpa)
