Insomniac has released a real time strategy (RTS) game aimed at promoting the forthcoming Resistance 3 in the Resistance: Fall of Man series.

California, US-based game studio released the free-to-play Global Resistance Online to the internet today. The studio might have used the same imagery and struggle as the flagging Resistance series.

The users can sign in from Facebook or Playstation Network account and enlist as either an Chimera or a human commander. The aim is to battle tooth and claw with the foe to rid the planet from lien invading or quash the human uprising and declare Earth home.

The gamers who reach far enough through the online campaign will unlock exclusive multiplayer skins, in-game titles and XP boosters for Resistance 3.
